Today we’re looking at a minimalist hotel built in the forests of Norway with huge windows from which you can admire forests and mountains. It’s called Juvet and is a hotel located near Valldal, Norway. Its seven rooms, seen from the outside, seem simple and basic but once inside one is amazed by the closeness to nature and by the view the windows provide. There are also very panoramic windows of the spa overlooking the rushing waters of the river. The spa makes use of the Olavskjelda mountain spring whose water is said to have restorative properties and is almost miraculous.
The hotel rooms are all different and are made of many wooden cubes scattered in the woods. Each is geared towards a different natural glimpse and the passing of the seasons is changing the views and perceptions of environment. Sleeping in the rooms of the Juvet costs about 190 euro per person per night.
But if you prefer something more traditional, there is always the Burtigarden of Alstad farm, one of the oldest farms in the high Sunnmøre. The building has been renovated, making a large lounge with fireplace, a dining room and 20 beds.
