Het Arresthuis Exterior View
At first glance, it may seem like nothing very original and yet, the stairs cast and barred windows already provide clues about it being a rather unusual place in the past. Het Arresthuis is indeed a former prison of the nineteenth century and the original doors and many other architectural details on the cells are still present. It is a chance of a unique experience for many visitors who will be delighted to stay in such an exotic environment and very refined decor.
Particular care has been given to the look of the place, highlighting the unusual building with a carefully calculated dosage of effects, suggesting its historical past as well as the modern comfort of its rooms.
Each room has been remodeled from 3 old cells, while deluxe rooms are located in the area formerly reserved for prison staff. The property features plenty of originality, though it slips when deciding to proudly display portraits of those sentenced to life imprisonment on the walls of the room.
As for the suites, four luxury suites have been built on the site of the old apartments of the director of prison and their names do reflect the origin of the place. You can enjoy your stay on the Lawyer, act almighty in the Director, be the Judge or even the Jailer. Although each suite has its own atmosphere, they all have luxurious amenities (air conditioning, underfloor heating, minibar, bathrobes, Nespresso coffee and tea and more).
