A real little paradise, an island unique is for sale and will be auctioned in September. This was announced by Stavros Myronidis, owner of the auction house Myro Antiques. The private islet Spalathronisi as is yet uninhabited, located a few hundred meters offshore Neo Marmara on the Chalkidiki peninsula will be auctioned with a starting bid of 10 million euro. This is the first of its kind island on sale. In fact it belongs to the state land and had no private owner, at least until today. The decision to sell private islands in Greece to reach due to the severe crisis that is strangling the country and to which the government responded with a surge in taxes on the ultra luxury properties.
These include a private islands which have made history. This was the case of the island of Skorpios of the Onassis family, the place that saw the culmination of the love between the greek shipowner Aristotle Onassis and Jacqueline Bouvier, widow of President JFK. To inherit it was the granddaughter Athina but decided to sell the island. According to print information the one who would have bought it is the rich businessman Dimitri Ryobolovlev for about 100 million euro. Last year some islands of the Ionian Sea were sold, purchased by the Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani for € 8.5 million.
Now on those islands should rise hotels and luxury residences. Spalathronisi is unique. It is uninhabited, lush and beautiful overlooking the crystal clear waters of Chalkidiki. According to the auction house, amongst the many beauties, it also boasts two large welcoming beaches. The auction will be open in September but on August 20, interested parties may make a purchase option. The decision to put the enchantment of the island will also serve to streamline the many necessary paperwork for the purchase of real estate. For someone it will be an opportunity to find a small piece of paradise nestled in the sea only for himself.
