The most beautiful beaches of the Carribean and more

Sea, sea and some more sea! That is all that comes to mind when mentioning the Caribbean. Located in Central America, it includes all countries bordering the Caribbean Sea. These are the Greater Antilles (Cuba, Jamaica and Puerto Rico) and the Lesser Antilles and the Bahamas. Of course the crystal clear waters are the main attraction of this exotic destination, but reading this guide you’ll discover  some of the alternative things to see in the Caribbean.

The first recommended destination is Tulum. It is located along the Mayan Riviera, and it is undoubtedly renowned for its idyllic beaches. However, the city is popular destination among tourists for its gastronomic tours seafood and cultural attractions too. With regards to housing, in addition to traditional hotels, there are features such as formulas hostels and small apartments with stunning sea views that you can rent. The archaeological ruins of Tulum make a real alternative to the sea. They are among the most important in the region and bear witness to the presence of ancient Maya peoples. Finally, the geographical location of the city makes it an ideal starting point for excursions, first of all in Playa del Carmen, and then to Cancun and the island of Cozumel.

Another destination not to be missed is undoubtedly Punta Cana, which is located on the west side of the island of Hispaniola. Measuring just over 400 square kilometers, it has its own airport from where daily domestic flights arrive and depart. The main feature of Punta Cana is the sand that makes up its beaches. It ‘so white that the sun seems to blind the viewer. The economy of this place is based of course on tourism and in fact the reception facilities are absolutely fantastic. You can even rent a villa on the beach. An unforgettable experience.

Playa del Carmen is another must-see. Here you can also enjoy long walks on the pristine beaches of blue transparent water, enjoying the sea lapping at your feet. At this place you can play virtually any outdoor sports activities related to the sea, from windsurfing to kitesurfing. There are also many golf courses and this place is the starting point for excursions to the Mayan ruins. There is also a pyramid to see, Coba. The attraction is represented by the unexpected nature parks, such as those of Xcaret and Xel-Ha. Do not miss the coral reef island of Cozume, which is the second largest reef in the world! Finally worth a visit is Trinidad. In this city that seems suspended in time you can find untouched places of the colonial period. There really is something for everyone to enjoy a wonderful caribbean stay.
