Those who have never been there unfortunately do not know. The thermometer rarely drops below 36 degrees, reaching peaks of 50° and the only salvation for those who, despite everything should work, seems to be the air conditioner. For these reasons the first free weekend is now synonymous with sea and beach. Rent a car (I recommend Sixt close to the Santa Justa train station and I recommend to book it a day in advance via the website). The goals are many. Some of them include the province of Cadiz, Huelva near Portugal that offers many opportunities to choose from. Sea, sun, relaxation, great fish and the most popular beaches with surfers from around the world.
But there is also one not far from the famous Tarifa just a couple of hours from Seville which has attracted the attention of our group of penniless writers with a passion for all that is ancient, the Playa Bolonia! There we find the ruins of the ancient Roman city Baelo Claudia which are located right near the beach, overlooking the sea. The forum, the temple, the area of the market after a careful renovation are living a new life in a natural paradise. Do not miss the archaeological museum with modern art where you can learn all about the tuna fisheries and the implementation of garum, a famous Roman sauce.
The beach is also a glow and thanks to its size a piece of paradise away from the crowds is guaranteed for all. Do not forget to take a walk in the woods to the extraordinary Duna natural heritage and rise to the top braving wind and sand. Above, in a lunar landscape, the view will range across the bay and on a clear day the mountains of Tangier appear on the horizon. For lunch or for a drink the beach bars offer great seafood at reasonable prices (between 10 and 15 € for the whole meal). Between fried fish, grilled tuna and swordfish plate you will be spoiled for choice.
