5 Recommended excursions done in a day from Prague

When making a tourist trip to Prague it is worth trying to organize it in a way that allows you to dedicate a day to make a trip to one of the most interesting places to visit in the vicinity of the capital of the Czech Republic. I will propose five trips recommended if you decide to spend only one day each from Prague

1. Karlstejn and Kriklovat Castles

Very near Prague there are two medieval castles that you can visit on the same day. The one is Karlstejn Castle which is currently in Renaissance style and the other is Krivoklat Castle of Gothic style.

2. Terezin Memorial

62 kilometers northwest of Prague we find the Terezin Memorial in what used to be a Nazi concentration camp during World War II.

3. Cesky Krumlov

The medieval town of Cesky Krumlov is not too close to Prague. It is 176 miles south, two hours by car but getting up early you can make a day trip that you will not regret as I assure you this is one of the visits that holds a lot for you. Without doubt, this is the most interesting thing to do in the Czech Republic apart from the capital.

One of the most popular tours for a day trip from Prague is Karlovy Vary which is a beautiful spa town. It is located 126 kilometers west of the Czech capital.

5. Chapel of Bones in Kutna Hora

As a curious choice you may also want to consider visitting the Chapel of Bones which is in the medieval town of Kutna Hora, 81 kilometers east of Prague. A very interesting one day trip.
